China > USA?

I’ve been sleeping late lately, all because of a particular sporting event across the pacific. The Olympic spectacle will never get old to me: Watching the hype, the drama, the disappointments, the victories, and the cheating are all but guaranteed every four years. And so every four years I find myself sleeping at times when most people are waking up to go to work. That’s one of the benefit about being unemployed. This time I get to watch everything in HD, and watch the smaller, non-televised sports like Badminton on the NBC Olympics website.
So as of now, the Chinese have 35 medals. One more than the United States. I expected this, realizing the Chinese pretty much owns the early Olympic events that involve flipping, twisting, rotating, and impressing judges. If it wasn’t for Michael Phelps (who looks a lot like my friend, albeit taller, not Mexican, more athletic, and famous), the US wouldn’t have nearly as many medals, especially the shiny gold ones.
These team events are helping China stack up those gold medals early on, but the US Dream Redeem Team should be able to earn some of those back in our favor. It’s pretty much a lock!
